Job Details

Job title: Process Engineer

Responsible to design, integrate, or improve manufacturing procedures and inspection standards. Administering various engineering solutions in the areas of cost savings, productivity or reliability improvements throughout the facility and carry out projects in the field of Product Development, Manufacturing and Design Engineering.

Education and Experience Requirements
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment required; metal casting industry (foundry) experience preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Materials Science, required.

Responsible to design, integrate, or improve manufacturing procedures and inspection standards. Administering various engineering solutions in the areas of cost savings, productivity or reliability improvements throughout the facility and carry out projects in the field of Product Development, Manufacturing and Design Engineering.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials, and parts.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Interact with customers to understand their requirements and specifications of a product.
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Troubleshoot new or existing product problems involving designs, materials, or processes.
  • Review product designs for manufacturability or completeness.
  • Train production personnel in new or existing operating procedures.
  • Communicate manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes.
  • Monitor and report on cost reductions which are a result of method improvements to improve profit margins.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.
  • Plan and establish sequence of operations to manufacture and assemble parts or products and to promote efficient utilization.
  • Coordinating and implementing quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve quality issues and maximize product reliability.
  • Share expertise and make recommendations as a part of a cross functional team of engineers, quality control, operations manager, and other staff members.
