The UPE Engineering Group Lead is responsible for leading Manufacturing Engineering functions for powertrain/propulsion programs. Their primary role is to guide their Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs.

Main responsibilities include:

Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies

Oversee engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of manufacturing equipment.

Manage and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budget

Manage all New Model (NM) program's facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation

Lead activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)

Lead their team in the implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks

Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to manufacturing engineering

Support the Propulsion Manufacturing Plants located in Kokomo Indiana while maintaining a relationship with the North American and Global CoC initiatives.

Drive standardization across plants in all regions

Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructure

Support Stellantis Production Way initiatives

Main responsibilities include:

Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studies

Oversee engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of manufacturing equipment of electric hairpin stators and rotor assembly equipment.

Manage all New Model (NM) program's facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installation

Lead activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)

Lead their team in the implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risks

Development/improvement of process and equipment standards related to manufacturing engineering specifically for electric hairpin stator and rotor assembly.

Lead industrialization for process design and installation of electric motor hairpin Stator and Rotor line manufacturing lines in Kokomo Indiana.

Lead procurement, design, build, install, qualification and launch of facilities and process supporting equipment and infrastructure

Support Stellantis Production Way initiatives

Requirements:
Two sets of qualifications. This is EITHER OR for the two positions on the requisition.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or technical equivalent

Minimum 3-5 years manufacturing experience

Minimum of 3 years' experience in with electric hairpin stator and rotor manufacturing. (to fill one or both positions)

Must be able to work and interact with all levels of the organization

Must have strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills

Ability to analyze, interpret and present data to all levels of the company in easily understandable formats

Ability to implement SPW principles and ability to lead effectively in a bargaining unit environment

High demonstration of leadership and teamwork characteristics.

Ability to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processes.

Demonstrated abilities to plan and execute large scale projects in time and budget.

Ability to effectively lead, teach, coach and mentor employees.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop the best teams.

Proficient with Microsoft tools

Flexibility to work all shifts

Daily, weekend and vacation availability

Flexibility to work at off-site locations.

International travel required, US passport or equivalent required.

Knowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closure.

Knowledge of cost studies and strategic planning a plus.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel intermediate or advance knowledge

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced degree preferred

Ability to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation

Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plus
