Secure Mission Solutions (SMS) is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join a highly accomplished team. In this position, the candidate will be responsible for developing technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the production of various types of military ruggedized electronic equipment. Our systems are subject to environments ranging from the frigid, subzero vacuum of space to the blistering heat of the desert floor. We are looking for candidates willing to collaborate, innovate, and team with our factory to deliver the highest quality product to the customer. The candidate will oftentimes work with minimal direction or supervision while exercising considerable latitude in determining the technical objectives of the assignment.

This position is located onsite in McKinney, TX. An active US Secret security clearance is required.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Troubleshoot processor modules, input/output modules, and power supply modules and repair accordingly.

  • Solve technical problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity while applying sound technical judgment.

  • Participate in internal and external peer reviews, technical meetings, and program meetings.

  • Provide support to testing, subcontractors, and the factory.

  • Ensure the consistent application of electrical engineering best practices and follow common standards in accordance with RTX processes.

  • Actively work with Program Management, Systems Engineering, Supply Chain, Customers, and other disciplines to develop and manage objectives and requirements for hardware production support.

  • Manage to cost and schedule requirements of assigned tasks.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.

  • Leverage new technologies, methodologies, tools, and processes used in industry to optimize hardware integration, and test efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint).

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to explain complex electrical systems clearly in simple terms to mixed audiences.

  • Experience with electrical engineering to include troubleshooting, analysis, and test.

  • Experience with commonly used electrical engineering design and analysis tools including but not limited to: Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, Creo Schematic.

  • Experience with commonly used test equipment including but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Network Analyzers, Power Meters.

  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.

  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and two (2) years of prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance .

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Mentor Graphics Design Creation (Siemens EDA) tools: DxDesigner, xDX Designer VX, and Xilinx (Zynq Ultrascale, Vivado, Atrix).

  • Experience using PCB electronic circuit design software: HyperLynx signal integrity, power integrity, and analog simulation, Xpedition Enterprise (xPCB).

  • Knowledge in the design of electronic products and tooling used in applications requiring high reliability and extended life.

  • Experience in design support for Special Test Equipment and tooling required for IV&V and production efforts.

  • Minimum of B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or other related STEM discipline.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is preferred prior to start date.

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
