Schneider Electric USA, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer in West Chester, OH.

Job Description: Perform a variety of engineering work related to applications; mechanical; manufacturing; quality; safety, health and environmental; or software. Create installation drawings for Field Service Representatives to install and retrofill equipment. Create designs specific to low voltage and medium voltage switchgear assemblies and related equipment. Coordinate with various engineering and plant teams to develop solutions within the scope of assigned projects. Develop bills of material based on project designs. Create engineering reports that clearly address the technical needs of a project. Perform site visits, conducting assessments of the condition and ratings of the existing equipment along with taking measurements of the equipment. Conduct feasibility studies to determine manpower and cost estimates and develop engineering criteria. Perform analyses to develop design options or recommendations for structures, systems and components to meet internal and external customer requirements. Eligible for remote work up to 3 days per week.

Requirements: Position requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Management or a related field and 2 years of progressive, post-Bachelor's experience in mechanical engineering in the manufacturing industry or related occupation, which must include at least some experience in the following skills: Designing of low and medium-voltage switchgear assemblies/systems and associated equipment in compliance with IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards; Mechanical designing of sheet metal structures, bussing, supports and bracing for low and medium-voltage switchgear equipment, including interfaces & interconnections for new, existing, retrofill and/or retrofit applications; Managing overall project delivery and production/installation schedule, including: initial quotation technical support, customer interaction and correspondence, generation of Mechanical Bill of Materials (BOMs), production & onsite drawing/instruction packages, factory/on-site Acceptance Test Plans (ATPs), O&M manuals, submittals/deliverables & project close-out, and final job cost analysis; Mechanical Design utilizing 3D modelling; Supporting Production & Quality Assurance teams for manufacturing excellence; and Supporting Pre-Submittal and Submittal Review Meetings as require obtaining Project releases and assist the sales and application team in compiling and submitting bids.
