Job Description:

HotFoot Recruiters is excited to partner with a multinational sheet metal manufacturing company to fill the position of Process Engineer. You will be responsible for optimizing and improving the efficiency of the manufacturing process. You will work closely with various departments, including engineering, production, and quality control, to ensure that our sheet metal products are manufactured to the highest standard.

Position: Process Engineer
Type: Full-Time; Direct Hire
Location: North Phoenix, Arizona
Pay Range: DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Check BOMs and Routers to determine process flow for Final Assembly. Provide immediate support to set up lines for new products.
  • Create Assembly Instructions for all production-released projects. Ensure timely delivery for production.
  • Generate Process Change Requests (PCRs) and Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs) as required.
  • Analyze each product line to identify improvement opportunities. Recommend and implement changes.
  • Investigate product non-conformances to identify root causes. Suggest solutions.
  • Implement automation systems like TruBend Cell 500 or AMADA Bending Automation to enhance sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Develop and refine control software for robotic arms and automation equipment. Ensure precise manipulation of sheet metal components.
  • Identify opportunities for automation. Implement solutions to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency while reducing lead times and costs.
  • Perform routine maintenance on automation systems. Provide technical support to resolve operational issues.
  • Use automation technology to ensure sheet metal components meet strict tolerances and specifications.
  • Train operators and maintenance personnel on automation system operation and maintenance. Maintain detailed documentation.
  • Ensure all automation systems comply with safety regulations and standards during design, installation, and operation.
  • Work with manufacturing engineers, production managers, and quality assurance personnel to drive continuous improvement and innovation in sheet metal fabrication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sustainability, or any related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in business unit, production management, or Process Engineering management and setup assembly line.
  • Proven ability to work independently while maintaining excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, associated inspection techniques, and testing methods to ensure product quality.
  • Ability to work effectively during standard operating hours to organize and complete tasks within deadlines.
  • Adaptability and willingness to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in process optimization techniques and root cause analysis.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g. SolidWork) for process design and layout.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
