Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work with the Technical Team to introduce new mold designs, tooling, and processes that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Develop scientifically based processes to monitor the performance of injection molding machines to ensure consistency of quality and efficiency via established process specifications
  • Provide engineering feedback on new designs to insure process capability and review/test new materials. Participate in mold design reviews prior to mold build.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing for capability issues, technical improvements, and daily processing activities.
  • May be involved with auxiliary equipment to support molding operations such as robots, pickers, closing machines, etc.
  • Lead and/or participate on cross-functional teams to help achieve operational goals.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to Molding Technicians and production mechanics.
  • Train employees, provide feedback on performance, and assign and direct work as needed.
  • Drive molding process improvements to include cycle time efficiencies, cavitation, scrap reduction, and establishment of optimal processing parameters.
  • Provide technical support for new tooling qualifications and process capability studies.
  • Support process improvement, reduction of downtime, cost reduction, TPM Improvements, and corrective action teams.
  • Assist in the set-up, repair, and troubleshooting of Injection Molding equipment.
  • Support Company Safety, Quality, and Productivity goals.
  • Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Tooling, and Quality departments to meet production requirements.
  • Develop and maintain all departmental procedures & work instructions.
  • Help promote a positive work environment with engaged employees.
  • Works to help achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
