Job Description:

Electrical Engineer

Location: Primarily Wilmington, NC.

Pay $38.25/hour

Duration: 1 Year

Travel: Potential travel to Midland, Winston Salem, and Hickory.

Position Summary:

Hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment.

Supervising internal and external maintenance and trades during equipment installation and conversion.

Troubleshooting, process start-up, and documenting electrical and control systems.

Modifying machine control programs and existing documentation.

Assessing existing equipment for new installation plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Troubleshooting:

Initial equipment set-up and debug.

Third-level troubleshooting and directing techs and trades.

Developing and overseeing electrical installation checklists and schedules.

Project Management:

Procuring and expediting materials.

Preparing work orders and directing fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation.

Reviewing and updating installation documentation and drawings.

Technical:

Modifying software programs for process equipment control.

Understanding and setting up machine controls for digital and analog I/O.

Redlining schematics and overseeing drafting services.

Providing training on new equipment installation procedures.

Optimization:

Re-designing electrical components to reduce costs and solve issues.

Analyzing and improving equipment installation practices.

Education:

BS in Electrical Engineering (BSEE preferred; related degrees considered

Skills:

Self-motivated and results-oriented.

Ability to manage multiple priorities.

Effective in small teams and well-organized.

Practical hands-on aptitude and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.

Proficient in electrical schematics and motion control (servo, stepper, DC, AC drives).

Understanding process variables and current loops.

Knowledge of serial communication (RS232 / 485, Ethernet, IEEE-488) and classical control theory.

Preferred Equipment and Software Experience:

Windows, MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), AutoCAD 2023, AutoCAD Electrical 2023, MS Project.

PLC and PC-based systems, Allen-Bradley PLC, Beckhoff PLC / Motion Control, B-R Control, Fanuc Robotics.

C++, Visual Basic, IFix, Automated equipment systems.

Fluke Meters, Oscilloscopes, electronic test equipment, programmable controllers.
