Description
Leidos Gibbs & Cox, has an opening for a Senior-Level Marine Engineer to support the USCG Ship Design Team. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days per week of onsite support at the USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC.
Primary Responsibilities
Evaluate effect of new or modified subsystems on overall system performance.
Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS's), Request for Waiver (RFW), and Engineering Changes (EC's).
Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
Conducting analysis and design of auxiliary systems. Depending on engineering background of candidate, the appropriate systems assigned may include one or more of the following: HVAC&R systems (including heating/cooling load, duct sizing and chill water piping calculations and equipment selection), auxiliary systems, power monitoring and control systems, electric propulsion, and power generation.
Basic Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship and must have an active secret clearance or be eligible to be granted one.
BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine degree from ABET accredited institution, related to field of work.
Minimum of 6 years' documented experience relating to the design of marine systems.
1+ year of experience related to federal ship or boat building acquisition programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret Security clearance.
Additional certifications, such as PE License, PMP, DHS Systems Engineering Certification, or DHS Program Management Certifications.
Experience with DoD ACAT I or DHS Level I shipbuilding programs.

Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
