Are you ready to lead a cutting-edge team of engineers and designers, driving innovation in product development and enhancement initiatives? As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be the go-to expert, leveraging your advanced education and extensive experience to manage large, impactful projects with minimal oversight. Dive into a dynamic role where you will:
Translate customer needs into visionary design documentation and make pivotal design decisions.
Innovate by developing and implementing new processes and standards.
Design groundbreaking new components or assemblies for both current and new products.
Create detailed 3D part files, manufacturing drawings, and assembly diagrams.
Enhance existing part designs to boost manufacturability, reliability, or cost-efficiency.
Perform meticulous tolerance stack-up analysis.
Conduct thorough failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to manage design and process risks.
Maintain comprehensive technical and regulatory documentation (design master records & design history files) for new products and design modifications.
Develop and execute rigorous verification and validation plans, ensuring product excellence through thorough testing.
Lead exhilarating design reviews for new parts and products.
Build and test prototypes to ensure every essential design requirement is met.
Tackle and resolve complex product, manufacturing, or process issues.
Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Mentor, review, and delegate tasks to junior professionals, shaping the future of engineering talent.
Take on additional exciting duties as required by the Engineering Manager.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience Requirements:
University Degree in Mechanical Engineering, P.Eng. status is required.
7+ years of proven experience in mechanical design, ideally in medical device manufacturing or instrumentation.
Demonstrated expertise in designing mechanical components or assemblies from concept to production.
Proficiency in 3D solid modeling CAD (preferably SolidWorks 2017 or above) and detailing.
Strong understanding of the design process.
Familiarity with ISO quality systems (ISO 9001 or ISO 13485) and manufacturing environments is an asset.
Knowledge of drafting standards and GD&T is an asset.
Experience with plastic injection moulding is an asset.
Experience in jig & fixture design is an asset.
Basic understanding of electronics is an asset.
