Job Description:

The Electrical Engineer is a key member of the Engineering Team. This position is the lead Engineer for the electrical products; information management including electrical documents, databases & schematics; management of programs on the production floor; and R&D. The Electrical Engineer has a variety of responsibilities that are integral to the Engineering Department. In addition, the Electrical Engineer performs a lead role on electrical in new product development and sustaining manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Must have a strong understanding of electrical concepts and manufacturing processes.
  • Able to read, write and analyze electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Possess a broad knowledge of electrical principles, wiring specification codes and handbook formulas along with a working knowledge of PLC's, VFD's, Motor Control, and Power distribution.
  • Create new programs for existing & new products.
  • Work proactively within the department to anticipate potential issues & provide solutions.
  • Read and produce electrical design, schematics/wiring diagrams, bills of materials, printed circuit board gerber plots & assembly drawings.
  • Program circuit boards.
  • Program PLC's for both products & test circuits.
  • Handle service calls.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing problems.
  • Managing test reports, e.g. ETL
  • Submit products to Safety Agencies for compliance evaluations.
  • Create documentation for vendors and production, including Installation Guides & User Manuals.
  • Assist in ensuring quality for new products and assemblies.
  • Provide support to Sales Representatives, Customers, & Field Service Techs with both electrical application & installation questions.
  • Conduct on-site customer installations & support as needed.
  • Initiate & carry out Engineering Changes.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Solid experience in C, C++ programming languages required.
  • Must be experienced in producing both electrical & printed circuit board design.
  • Experience programming microprocessors, ARDUINO, Raspberry Pi, PLC's, etc. is a must.
  • Minimum 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD development tools is recommended.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in the electrical field in industry.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Occasional travel.

Pay: $90,000

Pay rates at DL Manufacturing are based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, the job responsibilities; the candidate's education, training, work experience and key competencies; the company's strategic priorities; internal peer equity; applicable federal, state, local laws, and external market analyses.

DL Manufacturing offers health insurance with an 80% employer contribution as well as an employer contribution to employees' Health Savings Account (HSA) if enrolled in an eligible plan and have an HSA. The company also offers dental & vision insurance and a 401k with a company match. The company provides Group Term Life Insurance, Supplemental Short Disability and Long Term Disability for its full time employees.
