The Technical Ceramics business of Morgan Advanced Materials engineers high performance functional and structural ceramic materials, components and sub-assemblies to address customer-specific technical challenges.

Responsibilities:
Principal Purpose of Position:

Works with Engineering and Production personnel to investigate, develop and implement improved methods and processes for manufacturing.

Major Responsibilities/Activities:

Work with Customers, Vendors, and Production to develop and maintain robust production processes.

Documents processes through clear and specific work instructions.

Responsible for review of changes to drawings and specifications.

Leads product and process development.

May participate in the development and testing of new products, applying knowledge

of engineering.

Responsible for design, documentation and implementation of new tools, fixtures and other production and assembly aids.

Trains operators on new and existing processes and machines.

Provides technical assistance to a variety of departments and processes.

Facilitates team-based problem-solving activities.

Performs research and gathers data in support of continuous improvement and variation reduction.

Demonstrates commitment to MTC's continuous improvement philosophy including support of all quality, safety, productivity, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

Education/Certifications/Specialties

BS degree in Materials Science, Ceramics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or 5+ years' experience working with ceramic materials in a technical capacity.

Project Management certification desirable.

Experience:

2+ years in a manufacturing environment, including experience in metallization, materials science and/or assembly.

Ceramics machining experience desirable.

Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:

Oral, written, listening and communication skills.

Knowledge of project management processes and techniques.

Experienced in use of Solidworks.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing/six-sigma desired.

Knowledge and application of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

Knowledge of metrology and instruments.

Knowledge of ceramic metallization, plating, and brazing processes, including fixture design and hydrogen furnace operation desirable.

Knowledge of MasterCAM programming desirable.

Knowledge of machining practices and processes desirable.

Effective interpersonal skills.

Effective organizational skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to work under frequently changing priorities and deadlines.

Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.

Successful completion of the pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol testing and criminal background investigation required following offer of employment.

Salary: $67,050 to $83,000 Annual DOE
