Job Description:

This position will support field activities for environmental investigation and remediation projects at Military Munitions Response Program (MMRP) and Hazardous, Toxic, and Radiological Waste (HTRW) project sites, owned or managed by the federal government and Department of Defense (DoD). Tasks include performing field sampling and investigation, assisting in development of work plans, preparation of bids and proposals, and writing and reviewing reports.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform/support all aspects of field activities such as, but not limited to, field sampling and reporting, data management for various environmental investigation and remediation projects, including coordination/working with subcontractors.

Assist with preparation of work plans, sampling and analysis plans, quality assurance project plans, and health and safety plans.

Assist with development of completion reports for investigation and remediation projects.

Assist in developing scopes and specifications for subcontractors and partner companies.

Travel will be required to project sites, team meetings, and client meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.

Knowledge of field activities related to investigation and/or remediation on environmental projects.

40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher is a plus.

Experience working on federal projects (DoD, USACE, Army, Navy, Air Force) is a plus.

Experience working on military installations is a plus.

Working knowledge of CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, and MMRP regulations is a plus.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizenship. Must be able to produce personal documentation and pass background checks when required to gain access to military installations.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel.

Must be able to perform successfully in a team environment with limited supervision.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to accept occasional long-term (1 month or more) onsite assignments is a plus.

Field Environment

Standing or Walking 90%.

Stooping, kneeling, crouching 10%.

Climbing stairs or ladders on occasion.

Lifting, carrying up to 50 lbs.

Pushing and pulling less than 100 lbs.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to participate in annual medical monitoring programs and achieve clearance to wear a respirator.

Must be able to work outdoors in climates that can be hot, cold, arid, humid, and wet.

Vision: near, distance, peripheral, depth, ability to focus.

Ability to drive with a valid driver's license.
