Job Description:

JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer (Water/Wastewater)

LOCATION: San Jose, CA or Bakersfield, CA or Torrance, CA

DURATION: 9 to 12 months

PAY RANGE: $75/hr - $85/hr

SUMMARY:

The Temporary Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical and controls engineering related to the planning, design, project and construction management of water facilities. The Electrical Engineer must possess a detailed knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), electrical construction, and motor control centers. This position can be located in San Jose, CA, Bakersfield, CA or Torrance, CA.

Job responsibilities include:

-Prepares construction drawings, writes specifications and performs advanced engineering calculations including Short circuit current calculations, Voltage drop calculations, Breaker coordination studies in the process of completing electrical design of above and below ground water system facilities.

-Manages project scope, schedule, and budget

-Prepares construction contracts, bids projects, and awards contracts

-Provides construction management and shared field inspection at the location of the project construction

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Two years of experience working as an electrical engineer

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Skill in the area of project management with the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines successfully

California Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or California Professional Electrical Engineer (CA PE) registration desirable

Detailed knowledge and experience in the following areas:

Design of motor control centers

Knowledge of National Electrical Code

Electrical construction

Water, wastewater, or other related process industry experience

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications

Valid California Driver License
