Depending on experience, the employee may work alone or with others to ensure all applicable codes and policies are adhered to.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment including CNC Machine Tools and Foundry equipment.

Routinely overhauls, troubleshoots, repairs and performs preventative maintenance inspections and modifications to highly complex electronic control systems and electrical circuits of CNC machine tools (including tool changers), molding and melting equipment and industrial plant equipment located within NFPC.

Occasionally installs and puts into operations major electronic control systems, which are new to the activity or performs major modifications to existing systems.

Constructs interface devices and modifies equipment from verbal instructions and sketches from machine tool builders, control manufacturers, field service representatives, etc. Research direct replacement parts and recommends suitable substitutes if original parts are obsolete.

Shall comply with all NFPC procedures for safety, fall protection and hazardous materials.

Qualifications Required for the Position

Qualifications vary due to the wide grade levels possible.

Apprenticeship, or equivalent, in maintenance, repair and realignment of electronic industrial control mechanic principles as applied to highly complex CNC machine tools, machine tools, foundry melting and industrial plant equipment.

Exercise skill in the interpretation and analysis of electronics, electrical and mechanical drawings, specifications and schematics of complex custom designed systems.

Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting complex electronic systems.

Possess practical knowledge of electromagnetism, electronic circuits, computer theory, power control, power systems, logic systems, etc.

Use of hand and power tools associated with the trade.

Ability to utilize various technical publications (drawings, specifications, catalogs, charts, etc.).
