Job Purpose:

The Process Engineer will be responsible for sustaining and continuous improvement of PCB plating processes to improve process capability and yield. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve yield and manufacturing issues as related to plating. The engineer will also be responsible for creating and qualifying new processes, identifying and implementing equipment upgrades, improving process capability, implementing best known manufacturing practices, and exploring new technologies. Optimizing performance to achieve best-in-class yields for the technology being built is a critical objective.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on engineering support for process issues and product disposition.
  • Perform DOE and statistical data analysis to investigate major sources of process variation and develop solutions to eliminate or reduce their impact.
  • Identify critical-to-yield process parameters and specifications through process window characterization.
  • Utilize structured problem solving techniques and develop a culture of strong engineering discipline through the use of advanced quality tools such as FMEAs, DOEs, DMAIC, and SPC.
  • Work effectively with the equipment and material suppliers to identify opportunities for process capability and yield improvement through equipment upgrades, new equipment or materials, or new processing technology.
  • Work to the established priorities and work schedules. Support, augment and work seamlessly with the Process Engineering team and cross functional peers.
  • Participate in the development of intellectual property.
  • Interact with line managers within Sanmina and executive management of Sanmina's supply chain partners.

Required Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics is required; an MS is preferred.
  • 2+ years of process engineering experience in semiconductor or printed circuit board manufacturing operation.
  • Skilled in the use of statistical data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, or Minitab.
  • Ability to multitask as the job often requires supporting multiple tasks at the same time.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
  • Experienced in managing projects from start to finish.
  • Strong people skills and ability to manage teams.

Salary Range (annual) : $88,000.00 - $102,024.00
