Electrical Engineer- Design

Our Boston, MA office is seeking an Electrical Engineer with 3 to 5 years' experience for our Transportation and Infrastructure Division.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Successful completion of the FE Exam is a plus.
  • Willingness to take the FE exam and advance to Professional Engineer licensure.

Description:

The ideal candidate will have skills with Revit, AutoCAD, energy modeling and load calculation software, lighting software, specification/report writing, and other electrical engineering tasks. Strong computer skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities will include participation and taking the lead in the planning, design, and post-design of electrical systems for facilities projects for a broad client base. We provide design services to both public agencies and private corporations. Current projects include public transit terminals and transportation maintenance facilities; municipal buildings such as public work facilities; and light commercial/retail. Other potential projects include correctional facilities, convention centers, maintenance facilities, public health, and higher education buildings.

Additional responsibilities will include supporting the design Revit and AutoCAD efforts for the projects this person leads and assisting with design efforts on other senior electrical staff projects as required.

Day to Day Duties:

Works and assists senior engineers on their projects and takes the lead on his/her own projects under the review and supervision of the chief electrical engineer to perform the following project-related efforts:

  • Develop designs using Revit and/or AutoCAD for power, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
  • Size and specify electrical equipment/systems and perform electrical calculations using specialized engineering software:
    • Lighting
    • Short-circuit analyses
    • Protective device coordination studies
    • Arc Flash Analysis
  • Develop reports and specifications, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Conduct field surveys and document existing conditions.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 3 years minimum relevant experience as an electrical engineering specialist.
  • Completion of FE exam is a plus. Willingness to take the FE exam and advance to PE licensure is a must.

Compensation Range:

$73,650.00 - $98,200.00
