Job Description:

This position includes being a project manager, a lead process engineer as well as process supervisor in developing basic process design packages, studies, or technical proposals. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and the expertise to work on the broad range of the company's technologies and generic process units.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. As project manager, the individual will manage the development of process books and studies, being responsible for the schedule and fulfillment of scope of work, in compliance with company standards and policies.
  2. The project manager will ensure the quality of the relationship with Clients and contractors throughout the project life.
  3. As a Lead Engineer, she/he will participate in the development of the process simulation, specifications of equipment, PFD's and P&ID's, and other deliverables, including their verification and approval, and mentor and train junior engineers.
  4. As a part of the Engineering Team, participate in other more specific tasks such as technology improvements, methods developments, and support to Technical Proposals preparation or to the Technical Service teams.

EDUCATION:

B.S. in Chemical Engineering

M.Sc. is a plus

WORK EXPERIENCE:

15+ years of experience in the refining/petrochemical industry.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects as Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager while supervising less experienced engineers.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in chemical engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in the use of process simulation modeling tools (Pro II), including troubleshooting.
  • Complete understanding of process equipment design including reactor internals.
  • Ability to lead technical meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Grassroots and revamping project management, from technical and organizational points of view.
  • Knowledge and application of safety methodology and reviews (Process Hazards Analysis, Layers of Protection Analysis, etc.), including safeguarding.
  • Experience with plant changes and Management of Change process.
  • Understanding of project economics.
