My client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and fabricate production equipment, manage parts sourcing, and enhance manufacturing processes using SolidWorks and rapid prototyping. Description
- Design parts and assemblies using SolidWorks for 3D printing and external machining/fabrication.
- Create detailed machining and fabrication drawings; establish critical design tolerances.
- Source parts and materials, coordinate with external vendors to ensure timely project completion.
- Employ rapid prototyping and iterative design processes to enhance manufacturing by evaluating existing equipment and processes, generating improvement ideas, and implementing them.
- Maintain a clean and organized engineering workspace; perform regular cleaning of the engineering lab.
- Complete projects with precision and adherence to deadlines.
- Fabricate and assemble production machines, conduct testing, and modify parts as needed, including tasks such as drilling, tapping, welding, riveting, bending, grinding, sandblasting, and more.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across all organizational levels using strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery and facility equipment.
- Utilize critical thinking to analyze complex problems and devise innovative solutions for improved performance and efficiency.
- Prepare reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing product development and testing information.
- Support manufacturing by addressing queries and requests from the Production Team.
- Engage in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing efforts.
- Use Salesforce for work management, placing requisitions, and enhancing productivity.
- Interact with external vendors for new equipment and custom machinery purchases.
- Provide project updates and feedback during weekly Engineering meetings and quarterly company-wide meetings.
- Learn and understand the company's product portfolio and its applications.
Profile
Degree in Mechancial Engineering or related field
Excellent communication and customer service skill
Previous experience with machine shop experience
Excellent electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve equipment issues.
Recommended 3+ years of relevant experience.
Job Offer
Base Salary of $75,000-$95,000
