EVident Battery, Inc:

EVident Battery, founded by Yale MBAs, Engineering PhDs, and a former Tesla engineer, develops comprehensive and non destructive inspection solutions for electric vehicle (EV) battery packs to address the challenges in evaluating the health conditions and financial values of EVs. By integrating hardware and software through vibration analysis and machine learning, EVident Battery delivers comprehensive data on battery pack health, lifespan, and financial valuation, striving to establish industry standards for EV battery service and maintenance and to emerge as the central data repository for EV batteries.

Role:

As an Electrical Engineer on the EVident Battery team, you will be responsible for the products from concept to design, development, manufacturing, and field operation at every stage. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate our groundbreaking software and hardware and ensure our high industry standards are met. The ideal candidate thrives in a technically complex and fast-moving environment and is willing to challenge the status quo.

Responsibilities:
  • Product Development: Perform design, prototyping, manufacturing, and testing involving electronic circuits, sensors, and embedded systems.
  • Sensor Programming and Integration: Work with a variety of sensors, including mechanical, environmental, and motion sensors, to ensure accurate data collection and integration with existing systems.
  • Technology Advancement: Perform EV battery pack data collection and analysis through sensor testing and develop algorithms for real-time data processing.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate hardware solutions into comprehensive systems, providing data and clear documentation for future analysis.
  • Robotics and Automation: Develop and implement robotic systems using ROS (Robot Operating System) to enhance product testing and operational capabilities.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines and budgets to ensure project milestones are met, maintaining high-quality standards in product delivery.
Qualifications

Desired Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of electronic circuit design, sensor integration, and embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, CircuitPython, and MicroPython, especially for sensor data processing and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing electronic systems and sensors.
  • Familiarity with hardware development tools such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with robotics systems and ROS (Robot Operating System) for automation and control is considered a plus.
  • Strong communication and project management skills, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Requirements:

  • PhD, MS or BS in Electrican Engineering or related fields.
  • Remain engaged, proactive, and positive in tough circumstances. Own assignments and take full accountability for their success, with the ability to change direction quickly.

Compensation:

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position includes equity and cash components.
