TRANSPORTATION ENGINEER - Coachella Valley Association of Governments (CVAG) - (Position grade: $128,687 - $184,988 annually depending on qualifications, plus a generous paid benefits package including PPO/HMO). Full-time exempt position.

Opportunity to work on a one- of-a-kind traffic signal synchronization project extending throughout the Coachella Valley as well as the delivery of other challenging and complex transportation improvement projects.

Under general supervision of Director of Transportation, performs a wide variety of responsible and complex engineering related analytical duties; plans, organizes, oversees, coordinates, and manages staff and operations of transportation programs; manages and provides oversight of federal and state transportation planning and policy development programs, the use of federal, state, and local funding for transportation projects, and project development, management, and delivery; prepares reports and recommendations related to traffic, transportation or other specialized subjects; interfaces with member jurisdictions, state and federal agencies, consultants, and community organizations; and performs related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in engineering, planning, public or business administration, or a directly related field and five (5) years of experience in transportation and/or transit engineering and/or planning. A valid registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of California is preferred.
