Electrical engineers at Sierra Nevada Corporation research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle from analog and digital electronic circuit card assemblies to fully integrated systems.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Role is Contingent Upon Award

Responsibilities:

  • Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuitry to meet customer's requirements
  • Provide in-depth circuit analysis, and present it for review
  • Build circuit schematics and harnessing diagrams
  • Write test plans for circuit card assemblies and sub-system electronics
  • Conduct circuit card assembly testing and integration
  • Troubleshoot circuit card assemblies using various test equipment (DMMs, digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, waveform generators, power supplies, etc.)
  • Develop specification and requirement for electrical components
  • Contribute to the overall success of the project by working closely with other team members throughout the design and integration process

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience
  • Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Experience and Understanding of Computer Aided Engineering tools
  • Progressive experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required

Preferred:

  • Understanding of aviation electrical systems designs and hardware integration
  • Exposure to simulations through functional and logical models and system analysis
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
  • Experience composing and analyzing Electrical Load Analysis (ELA), circuit modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Knowledge of industry-standard electrical design principles, to include, but not limited to model-based definition, electrical component selection, manufacturing, and production processes
  • Familiar with Electro Magnetic Effects (EME) to include, Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI)
  • Experience in digital or analog circuit design and schematic capture
  • Understanding of the printed circuit board layout process and tools
