Job DetailsPosition Overview: The Electrical Engineer will collaborate closely with controls engineering, R&D, production management, pre-sales teams, and technical service to help introduce new product designs, support existing models, and validate the selection of purchased electrical components.
Responsibilities:
- Review and develop electrical wiring diagrams for semi-custom units.
- Create control panel layouts using 3D CAD software.
- Develop preconfigured setups for company's proprietary selection software.
- Assess Sequence of Operations (SOO) to confirm accurate controls wiring and application sequencing.
- Modify bills of materials in the ERP system to ensure correct unit electrical construction.
- Collaborate with electrical component suppliers to ensure quality, resolve defects, and communicate technical specifications.
- Conduct electrical testing on prototype units.
- Ensure adherence to ETL, NEC, and other relevant coding standards.
- Identify and provide custom electrical components and sensor solutions based on customer-specific needs.
- Participate in cross-functional projects with mechanical/refrigeration, sheet metal, and controls engineers for NPI (New Product Introduction).
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and contribute to driving these solutions into production.
- Directly interface with customers to troubleshoot installation issues and optimize product operation.
- Promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment while implementing improvements.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited institution is preferred (or 5+ years of HVAC electrical experience in lieu of a degree).
- 2-3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with PLC programming is preferred.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical or similar 3D CAD software.
- Experience with HVAC or building management control systems is preferred.
