My client is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, integrate, and test complex electro-optical systems for defense applications, with responsibilities spanning from conceptual design to manufacturing support. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, relevant hands-on experience, and a proactive attitude for contributing in a dynamic, startup environment.

Description

  • Engage in all stages of development, from conceptual architecture studies to detailed design, system integration, and manufacturing support.
  • Assist senior engineers in developing the electrical architecture for complex EOIR systems and define subsystems for other disciplines.
  • Collaborate with a multi-discipline team including mechanical, software, systems, optical engineers, program managers, suppliers, and customers.
  • Perform detailed schematic design for:
    • Battery-operated systems
    • Power/signal analysis
    • Analog and digital (FPGA/microcontroller) circuit design
    • High-speed data transmission
    • EMC best practices
  • Support component placement and PCB layout with a focus on high-density, low SWaP applications.
  • Evaluate designs through simulation, prototype testing, and requirement verification.
  • Troubleshoot design failures, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Provide production and manufacturing support as needed.
  • Generate documentation for quotes and procurement.
  • Occasional travel within the US to customer locations for product testing or design reviews

Profile

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-4 years of relevant experience

Eagerness to learn and develop new skills in a fast-paced development environment

Familiarity with ECAD tools for schematic capture, layout (e.g., Orcad, Allegro), and system simulation.

Experience with system integration, debugging, testing, including basic soldering skills and use of test equipment

Job Offer

Base Salary of $70,000-$120,000
