Leidos is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our National Airspace Systems Integration Support (NISC) program to provide support to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NAS NAVAIDS programs.

Work location is College Park, GA

Hybrid, in office/remote, position

20% travel to conduct on site surveys and reviews

The projects will range over the geographic scope of the eastern service area.

This position provides assistance in Electrical Engineering design, planning, cost estimating, scheduling, engineering, coordination, contracting, installation, inspection, and acceptance of electrical systems/services as part of the implementation of a wide variety of NAS NAVAIDS programs and projects.

The Electrical Engineer will plan and design electrical systems for a variety of FAA facilities (buildings and structures).

Lead design projects for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) NAVAIDs, including MALSR SLEP and other NAVAIDs systems

Conduct on-site surveys to create designs and detailed reports

Analyze existing facilities and consult with multi-disciplinary teams to address design and implementation issues

Manage project tasks, including safety plans, work sequences, cutover plans, risk management, and permits

Participate in coordination meetings, inspections, and testing, and oversee facility restoration

Provide regular work status reports and track project punch list exceptions; review designs of other projects

Electrical Engineer Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university

Eight years of relevant experience in commercial, industrial or government facility replacement and modernization design engineering OR six years of relevant experience with a Masters degree

Current and relevant knowledge of building and other codes in order to perform load calculations, wiring sizing and layout, arc flash calculations and distribution, breaker coordination and equipment sizing and selection

Ability to obtain and maintain public trust suitability (To be eligible for the FAA Public Trust you must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder who has resided in the US for the past 3 years)

Electrical Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

Registered Professional Engineer in good standing in the United States

Prior FAA experience
