Engineering Support Specialist/Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Engineering Support Specialist/Electrical Engineer to join a great team. In this role, you will assist and lead efforts to ensure that all equipment complies with safety, environmental, and other regulatory standards. You will track engineering expenses and capital budgeting compliance while supporting the design, installation, modification, and maintenance of both new and existing plant equipment, buildings, and facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Perform activities involving continuous improvement tools, analyze product irregularities, recommend solutions, and facilitate cost-reduction initiatives aimed at improving product costs. This includes assisting in the training and instruction of team members and providing day-to-day support on the production floor.

- Identify unacceptable performance through data gathering, analysis, and the application of technical knowledge of the product and process, including waste reduction.

- Provide support in preparing cost estimates, financially justifying projects, preparing budgets, reviewing designs, and supervising installation and commissioning of projects. Research new equipment, systems, and processes to enhance plant operations for smaller projects.

- Collaborate with relevant associates to ensure safety, environmental, and other regulatory compliance by addressing EHS issues, implementing Management Safety Reviews (MSRs), and continuously improving communication across departments.

- Assist in contractor management processes and conduct periodic audits of contractor work to ensure adherence to safe work practices and standard operating procedures.

Education:

- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering and maintenance teams to achieve cost-effective goals.

- Equipment design experience and a background in project engineering or project management is preferred.

Skills:

- Proficiency in using computer-based technology, programming, debugging programming languages, and troubleshooting machine problems.

- Understanding and design capability of modern safety control systems.

- Ability to interpret and create technical CAD drawings and electrical diagrams, with some knowledge of designing electrical control systems.
