If you are a Mechanical Engineer aiming to grow your career within Forensics & Building Science, then our Mechanical Engineer - Forensics opportunity will provide you with a fulfilling & rewarding career.

As our Mechanical Engineer - Forensics, you will be hands-on and working with Professional Engineers (P.E.) to earn experience towards testing for your future P.E. license. Conduct lab reviews of client provided components/parts for testing, analysis, subrogation, and report creation. Perform online research for specific individual projects (design specs, mechanical building code, permits, weather, sales, satellite, etc.). Visit locations to conduct a forensic analysis and provide professional opinions.

This position is based out of our Tampa, FL (Temple Terrace office).

Responsibilities:
Other responsibilities include:

Document and maintain laboratory research (for future publications promoting NV5) side by side with our engineers.

Field work conducting forensic evaluations.

Assisting engineers in monitoring and continuously updating scheduling for site visits, pre site visit desk review meetings, depositions, deposition meetings, Trial Prep Session conference calls, etc.)

New project management & Teamwork (software) updates

CAD (structure drawings)

Post site visit photo and document management

Writing reports and preparation

Plumbing system assessments

HVAC system failure analysis

Psychrometric and efficiency analysis for HVAC systems

Qualifications:
If you possess the following experience & qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

B.S. Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.

EIT certificate is a plus

2+ years of relevant or transferrable experience within Forensics, Construction, HVAC Systems and/or Mechanical, Electrical Plumbing (MEP).
