On behalf of our customer, a leader in the air pollution control industry, specializing in delivering innovative engineering solutions and equipment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and strong management skills to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems with a focus on MEP. This role requires technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills to ensure the successful completion of projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in MEP systems and a proven track record in managing engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Team Management:

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of six (6) mechanical engineers.

Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment by collecting the input from team members.

Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide quarterly feedback to team members.

Identify training and development needs and provide appropriate training opportunities via a quarterly schedule.

2. Project Management:

Utilizing Smartsheets software, oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of mechanical engineering projects with a focus on MEP systems.

Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines and budget constraints.

Coordinate with other departments (sales, estimating, manufacturing, purchasing and shipping) and stakeholders to ensure project alignment and successful completion.

3. Design and Development:

Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and products with a focus on MEP.

Conduct feasibility studies and analyze design specifications to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Utilize SolidWorks CAD software and other engineering tools to create detailed designs and prototypes.

Perform testing and validation of designs to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance.

Maintain and control company design standards

4. MEP Systems Expertise:

Design and analyze HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems for various projects.

Ensure compliance with building codes, standards, and regulations related to MEP systems.

Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and coordinated MEP designs.

5. Quality Assurance:

Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure product and project quality.

Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure mode effects analyses (FMEA).

Address and resolve technical issues and design challenges.

6. Communication and Collaboration:

Serve as the primary point of contact for mechanical engineering projects.

Assist project managers in communicating project status, updates, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineering, manufacturing, and procurement, to ensure project success.

Compensation:

$125-175k annually plus 15% bonus

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

5 years experience in related industry a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.

Proven experience in managing and leading engineering teams in a multi-discipline, project-based business.

Extensive experience in MEP systems design and implementation.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
