ABOUT THE POSITION
Senior Transportation Engineer/Planner Orlando, FL
Are you a passionate Transportation/Traffic Engineer ready to lead impactful projects across diverse sectors? VHB's Orlando office is expanding, and we want you to join our dynamic Transportation Planning group. You'll collaborate with a talented team on transformative projects for both public and private clients, including real estate developers, municipal and state agencies, higher education, federal lands, and aviation.
Responsibilities:
Design and plan innovative transportation solutions, integrating Complete Streets concepts in both urban and suburban settings
Lead multi-modal transportation analyses, addressing the needs of drivers, cyclists, pedestrians, and freight
Develop and design key infrastructure, from intersection improvements to multimodal facilities and transportation corridors
Prepare traffic impact and safety studies, forecasting models, and operational analyses
Present findings and solutions to clients in a clear, engaging manner
Create impactful data visualizations to bring designs to life
Support proposal development, scope creation, and project budgeting
Lead and mentor junior staff on project tasks
Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills

Self-motivated and disciplined
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
5+ years of experience in transportation engineering/planning (consulting firm experience a plus); 8+ years of experience preferred
Professional Engineer (PE) license required
PTOE/RSP certifications are a bonus
Proficiency with Synchro and HCS
Familiarity with Sidra, Cube/FSUTMS, Microstation, and PTV VISSIM/VISUM is highly preferred
