Job Summary

The Mechanic 1 (US Navy or India/Multi-Foreign component) performs maintenance on aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, hydraulic systems, engines, avionics, armament, gear boxes, rotor systems, plane captain qualifications, flight schedule and operations, ventilation, and heating systems, and phase and preservation services while working with foreign countries/cultures.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Repairs and rebuilds all aircraft systems, including aircraft structure, engine/gearbox/rotor system, and all avionic systems. This includes blades, fuselage, and functional components such as rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units.
  2. Ensures proper use of hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment (e.g., shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, drills).
  3. Reads and interprets manufacturers' and maintenance manuals, OPNAV 4790, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
  4. Performs 175-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other inspections, examining engines for cracks, oil leaks, and other potential issues.
  5. Tests engine operation using testing equipment, and replaces or repairs worn or damaged components (e.g., generators, alternators, fuel controls).
  6. Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, servicing aircraft, and maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  7. Repairs and modifies structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, specializing in engine repair as needed.
  8. Coordinates and participates in the jacking and towing of aircraft, ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
  9. Maintains a safe working environment, adhering to safety protocols and participating in safety committees as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three (3) years of recent O level H-60S/R/F/H Aircraft Maintenance experience or equivalent rotary aircraft experience.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all required qualifications according to CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) and local work site instructions.
  • Must complete one or multiple PQS for classification's qualification as needed.
  • Obtain and maintain Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) or Quality Assurance Representative Qualification (QAR).
  • Position requires flexibility with working hours and the ability to work all shifts.
  • Ability to read, write, and interpret technical data and special operating instructions.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and NALCOMIS/OOMA.
  • Prior experience with U.S. Naval repair maintenance operations on military aircraft is highly preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must possess and maintain a favorably adjudicated Tier 3 Background Investigation.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

MH60-R Experience.
