The Opportunity

This Sr. Electrical Engineer works onsite out of our Sunnyvale, CA location in the Cardiac Rhythm Management. A global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, we focus on innovative technologies that can improve the way doctors treat people with heart arrhythmias, or irregular heartbeats.

What You'll Work On

Applies engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solution of technical problems associated with designing and verifying an implantable medical device. Exercises technical judgment in planning, organizing, performing, coordinating and/or directing engineering work. Performs engineering studies, documentation, test automation, and analysis. Remains abreast of and consults on technical advancements. Identifies and routinely uses the most effective and cost-efficient practices to execute processes; continually evaluates their effectiveness and appropriateness.

  • Provides supporting services and tooling at the direction of senior engineers and scientists.
  • Conducts evaluations, tests, and analyses related to feasibility and function.
  • Performs troubleshooting and fault isolation activities on a variety of breadboards and hybrids.
  • Conducts measurements specified in design verification plans, documents and tabulates results, and provides engineering test reports.
  • Automates test measurement and data collection to improve efficiency.
  • Documents custom tools with specifications and schematics to support document control and tool release.
  • Supports all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering, or related engineering field.
  • Three plus years of progressively more responsible design and experience.
  • Broad technical knowledge; expertise in one or more relevant specialties.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g. circuit simulation, layout simulation, or mathematical modeling).
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10%, including internationally.

The base pay for this position is $83,600.00 - $167,200.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
