YOUR ROLE WITH THE COMPANY
This position will perform a variety of tasks at the direction of a project Manager, project engineer or other senior staff member in transportation. Reports direct to VP.
Planning and design of transportation projects
Designing horizontal and vertical roadway geometry
Preparing various stages of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Drafting technical reports
Assistance in developing drainage and utility designs
Perform roadway design on interchange, intersection design, and highway improvement projects for DOT and municipal clients
Conducting field visits during design or construction
Develop and maintaining good working relationships with clients and engineering partners; proactively engaging with clients to prepare high quality and cost-effective solutions
Experienced level engineers (PEs) will work as a key team member and mentor junior design staff
Specific role will depend upon the candidates level of experience.
BACKGROUND
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering for Engineer positions with 0 to 10 years experience in road design and DOT projects (site layout, grading, erosion control, water and sewer utilities and stormwater management ) (link removed) No degree required for CAD tech/designers.
- EIT or PE for the state of SC (or ability to obtain) desired for Engineer positions.
- Roadway design and plans preparation experience on SCDOT related projects
- Experience with Microstation, Geopack Software
- Familiarity of the SCDOT Roadway Design Manual and AASHTO Policy on Geometric Design
- Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently or as part of a team
