Job Description:

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida, USA, with a technical support center in South East Asia and East Africa. We provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide, supporting the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Accra, Ghana.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will support the renovation and expansion of the USAID Mission in Accra, Ghana. This role involves providing comprehensive engineering and construction quality assurance, and technical oversight for the USAID Accra Densification Project, which includes renovating and expanding the USAID Annex building.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical inspections of electrical work, ensuring compliance with design documents and specifications.
  • Observe onsite construction to ensure proper installation and execution of electrical systems.
  • Monitor construction progress relative to the project schedule and submit weekly progress reports.
  • Review contractor submittals and assess compliance with contract requirements.
  • Support the development of Independent Government Estimates (IGEs) for modifications and change orders.
  • Conduct inspections of electrical installations and ensure adherence to current electrical codes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) is acceptable in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in construction projects of similar scope and dollar value.
  • Overseas experience preferred.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Final Secret, Interim Top Secret, or Final Top Secret clearance.
  • Knowledge of International Codes and construction safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required.
  • Familiarity with current electrical codes is essential.
  • Experience in construction management and project management related to electrical and telecom systems.
  • Ability to perform inspections on active construction sites and identify non-code compliant electrical installations.

Work Environment:

  • The position will be primarily on-site at the USAID Mission in Accra, Ghana.

Travel Requirement:

  • Travel may be required; specific travel needs will be identified and funded as necessary.
