Overview

If you are you looking to work on a wide range of technologies, architectures, and IP for next generation products, the Connectivity Technology group is the place for you. As part of a small, highly skilled team you will work with customers, marketing, product teams, and Skyworks Technology/Manufacturing group to identify critical needs for next generation Connectivity products. You will design, prototype, and validate RFIC designs including PA's, Switches, & attenuators with the goal of delivering this IP for integration into the next generation of WiFi FEMs and new product segments.

Job Description

As an RFIC/PA design engineer, you will be responsible for the analysis, design, and development of circuits used in next generation mobile devices. Typical circuitry to be developed will include WiFi, BT, and UWB power amplifiers, RF variable attenuators, couplers, and switches. You will integrate a range of circuits into your RF design, including detectors and control circuits and verify RF performance with thorough simulation. You will drive integration, layout, verification, and tapeouts covering a range of technologies including SiGe/GaAs/SOI and work with EM/module designers to enable product-level evaluation.

To be successful in this role, you should be fully capable of top-level die development, tape-out, and product ownership and have a strong knowledge of design flow, layout parasitic, and ESD best practices. You will be interacting with designers from multiple sites and required good communication and presentation skills.

Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (minimum) with 10-years minimum experience with demonstrated track record of product ownership/delivery. M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.
  • Comprehensive simulation skills in Keysight ADS, EMX, Cadence including PEX, Monte Carlo, and Corner analysis.
  • Strong skills in PA design.
  • Knowledge of basic RF blocks including couplers, switches, attenuators, LNA's, differential mode.
  • Basic knowledge of bandgaps, op-amps, detectors, regulators, precision current sources.
  • Exposure to full chip integration and verification.
  • Solid understanding of layout practices in Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Exposure to commercial CMOS or SOI wafer fab technologies, 180nm or below.
  • HBT technology.
  • LNA Design.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $124,400 - $235,700 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
