Job Description:

Cranleigh STEM is working with a growing design consultancy who are currently experiencing significant growth within its mechanical engineering team, driven by an influx of long-term projects across multiple sectors.

We are looking for highly skilled, Senior Mechanical Engineers with extensive product development experience to join its dynamic technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and collaborate with talented individuals on a variety of projects, including consumer products, innovative transport solutions, and medical devices.
  • Take on a technical leadership role, guiding the team through complex challenges and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality products.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including designers, electronics engineers, software developers, and other specialists, to integrate visual and functional aspects of products into world-class designs.
  • Oversee the financial and commercial aspects of projects, including team selection, budget management, and client communication.

Requirements:

  • A creative problem-solver with the ability to generate innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
  • Adapt quickly to new information and thrive in a dynamic consultancy environment.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior engineers, ensuring high standards and successful project outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and colleagues.
  • A 1st or Upper 2nd degree in mechanical engineering from a reputable institution.
  • Proven experience in a product design or development environment, with expertise in design tools (SolidWorks), computational techniques, and a wide range of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Experience in low-volume rapid prototyping technologies and high-volume manufacturing processes such as injection moulding.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.

Salary: £ Competitive (DOE)
Benefits: 22 Days holiday + banks (increasing with service), Bonus, Pension, Cycle to work scheme, Hybrid working.
Location: West Midlands, commutable from Coventry, Rugby, Daventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Redditch, and Birmingham.
Role: Full-time, permanent.
