Job Overview:

Thank you for taking the time to consider this position! We are an industry leader in developing custom hydraulic solutions, and we are currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position will focus on New Product Development and Continuous Product Improvement projects. We're looking for a candidate with a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent teamwork skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with minimal oversight. The right individual will have strong communication abilities and use data-driven approaches to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering Design & Sketch Development: Create engineering sketches, specifications, and designs that define size, shape, and layout for new projects and improvements.


  • Material Selection & Cost Efficiency: Select materials that meet safety factor requirements while keeping cost targets in mind.


  • Mechanical & Hydraulic Analysis: Perform mechanical and hydraulic analysis on cylinders to ensure product integrity and performance.


  • Project Management: Lead projects from concept through to full production, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.


  • Manufacturing Drawings Creation: Develop detailed manufacturing drawings for machining, welding, and assembly to facilitate the production process.


  • Risk Mitigation & DFMEAs: Develop DFMEAs and corresponding test plans to identify and mitigate design risks early in the development process.


  • CAD & Analysis Tool Usage: Utilize engineering tools such as CREO, ANSYS, and MathCad to enhance design accuracy and efficiency.


  • Industry Standards Application: Interpret and apply relevant industry standards such as ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, and DNV in all design work.


  • Stakeholder Communication: Present and communicate design requirements effectively to customers, suppliers, and internal teams both in written reports and verbal presentations.


  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure that designs are optimized for manufacturability and cost efficiency.


  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and approve design changes and specification updates through continuous improvement initiatives.


  • Reliability Testing & Reporting: Assist in reliability testing and prepare comprehensive project reports throughout the design and implementation phases.


  • Additional Responsibilities: Handle other duties as assigned to support engineering and production activities.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university.


  • 5 years of experience in mobile hydraulics.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimal oversight.


  • P.E. License or Certified Fluid Power Engineer (CFPE) preferred but not required.



Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary: $105,000 to $120,000 (negotiable based on experience)


  • Bonus: Significant bonus based on performance.


  • Benefits Package: Full benefits including all insurance, 401(k) w/ match, PTO, and more.


  • Travel: Less than 10%
