Our Principal Mechanical Engineer is at the helm designing systems and framework for more efficient machinery. Jered LLC, a world leader in engineering intelligent solutions, is growing again. Leading with passion and expertise, the Principal Mechanical Engineer masterfully manages high-complexity projects for design variants and new sub-system design solutions that further solidify Jered's reputation for quality products in the next generation of naval defense.

While delivering excellent products at the forefront, the Principal Mechanical Engineer ensures the integrity of Jered equipment by serving as both an individual contributor and a coordinator of other technical personnel utilized on the design of marine systems, including mechanical, electrical controls, software, and technical writing. Focusing on every detail, reviewing technical documentation generated meets industry and customer specifications.

There's also the opportunity to lean into creativity, leading new design projects with brilliant creativity and design talents to craft entire state-of-the-art solutions that are cutting-edge, functional, and most importantly manufacturable. After thoroughly assessing the full system engineering designs & documentation, they confidently add their stamp of approval.

Requirements:

  • US Person
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar engineering discipline.
  • 10 years' design experience with industrial or marine equipment with direct experience in electrohydraulic or electromechanical systems and/or Military/Navy programs.
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects.
  • Experience with Engineer-to-Order contracts.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D modeling software: Solidworks, AutoCAD, FEA.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to travel as required (Typically 5%).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineers (PE) License.
  • MS in Engineering and/or MBA and/or 15 or more years of experience in designing industrial or marine equipment.
