Job Description:

What you will do

  • Serve as technical expert within Power Electronics Department that is responsible to design, test, and maintain power electronics products and systems for Johnson Controls' chiller applications.

  • Determine the best techniques, procedures and/or theories as they apply to the development of power electronics products and systems.

  • Create compliance procedures for the development of electrical/electronic circuitry designs.

  • Define and interpret design specifications; design electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements; and analyzes product design requirements and recommend solutions.

  • Prepare and coordinates the release of documentation to support component design and manufacturing.

  • Participate in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture, and conducts analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software.

  • Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems.

  • Work with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments.

  • Forecast and schedule work activities, and defines processes for repetitive tasks.

  • Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of power electronics products and systems on Johnson Controls' chillers.

  • Travel to visit customers, Johnson Controls' factories, vendors, and/or professional conferences as business needs

What we look for

Required

  • Master degree on Electrical Engineering with specialization on Power Electronics

  • 3-6 years of experience in the field of power electronics or electrical engineering

Preferred

  • Ph.D. degree with focus in Power Electronics

  • Strong experience on power electronics controls

  • Strong experience on IGBT based inverters

  • Strong experience on advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, OPAL-RT, Saber
