Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist

Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview

REQUIREMENT: Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen

Travel and Housing Allowance will be provided

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides professional geotechnical engineering and construction management support by performing tasks such as serving as a general engineer providing professional and technical leadership, guidance, and expertise in managing contractor executed construction projects.
  • Serves as the organizational subject matter expert regarding national standards and practices for geotechnical engineering designs as they relate to dam construction safety renovations.
  • Perform inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure the work is in accordance with the contract and specifications.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFI).
  • Ensure contractor is adhering to contract and specification requirements.
  • Support construction contract modifications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Geology.
  • 5+ years of engineering, construction management, and geological experience, Alaska area preferred.
  • Knowledge of soils and geological components for construction of barrier wall embankments.
  • Experience with construction administration and capability of handling large civil works projects.
  • Knowledge of dam construction and safety modification.
  • Familiar with US Army Corps of Engineers' processes.
  • US Army Corps of Engineering or other federal project experience preferred.
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS) preferred.
