Job Description:

The ideal candidate is an expert in modeling, simulation and vibrations analysis of complex physical systems. The position includes a need to develop, test and validate various models against real world collected data. The candidate will leverage their expertise to transform theoretical approaches into real world functional systems that meet product requirements.

As we are a small startup the role will have a large amount of autonomy and the candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where requirements may shift and decisions need to be made with limited information.

This role is located onsite in our office in Waltham, MA.

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Physics or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years applicable professional experience in the robotics or automation industry
  • Expert in system dynamics, simulation, modeling and vibration analysis
  • Expert in developing free body diagrams and governing equations for complex physical systems
  • Expert in use of sensing (load cells, accelerometers, others) to characterize a complex physical system/model
  • Strong problem-problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering
  • Signal processing experience
  • Experience running finite element analysis
  • Proficient with SolidWorks and preparing engineering documentation per ASME Y14.5 for production release.
  • Expertise in performing static and dynamic load calculations and performing kinematic analysis
  • Matlab or Python experience
