Electrical Controls Engineer Opportunity!

A local, cutting edge manufacturer is seeking a Electrical Controls Engineer to lead the design, build, and installation, maintenance, and integration of control systems for industrial specialty equipment. As Electrical Controls Engineer, the focus is on developing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions to optimize performance and efficiency. Electrical Controls Engineer Requirements:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience programming and troubleshooting automation equipment and related controls in a profession setting, with preference being given to experience in manufacturing/production environments.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (with I&E/control system emphasis), or substantial equivalent experience is required.
  • Proficiency with PLC programming (AB & Siemens preferred), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical design and safety standards (IEC, IEEE, NEMA, CE)
  • Knowledge of both high voltage and controls circuitry
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software; SolidWorks Electrical a big plus
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; the ability to apply engineering principles to solve design problems is essential.
  • The capacity to work independently with minimal supervision is necessary.
  • Willingness to travel for project support is expected.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills are required.

Electrical Controls Engineer Responsibilities:


  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Design and construct electrical control panels according to specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on panel design and layout
  • Perform quality checks to ensure functionality and efficiency of all panels
  • Troubleshoot and repair existing control systems
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules
  • Prepare cost estimates and timelines for projects
  • Write electrical specifications and create single-line diagrams
  • PLC-based automation control systems are designed and deployed, integrating motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.
  • Ongoing support for existing systems is provided, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Comprehensive testing and simulation of systems are conducted prior to delivery.
  • On-site commissioning and training sessions are executed as required.
