Job Summary
Coordinate program laboratories and assist instructors in the operation of the lab areas and equipment to facilitate the student learning process.
Essential Functions
Prepare and organize materials and equipment needed for laboratory/work site activities. Clean up after completion of activities. Maintain records as requested by instructors and as required for safety compliance. Repair and maintain equipment.
Set up laboratory/work site practical examinations.
Maintain inventory of materials and supplies for laboratory/work site projects. Contact vendors regarding purchases and initiate requisitions. Monitor and update SDS information and notify instructors of updates as appropriate. Establish maintenance schedule and arrange for repairs if needed.
Train instructors and students on the use of laboratory/work site equipment and proper use and disposal of chemicals; oversee appropriate storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals/cleaning supplies used in labs; prepare a schedule of lab utilization. Coordinate chemical disposal with the DMACC Safety Coordinator.
Perform other duties as assigned.
