As the energy industry rapidly shifts toward alternative energy sources, our clients OnSite Energy & Power team is dedicated to leading this transition. We are seeking a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join this team of experts tackling complex challenges in decarbonization and resilient utility solutions. This role will focus on developing electrical designs for a range of projects, including utility installations, plant upgrades, and distributed generation and microgrid projects for corporate, healthcare, airport, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities.
In this position, you will be a technical leader, providing innovative electrical solutions from concept through construction, and working closely with clients to address unique energy needs. Your leadership in electrical design will be instrumental in delivering a cleaner, secure energy future.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership: Lead electrical design projects from conceptualization through completion, ensuring alignment with budget, design specifications, and client requirements.
Equipment Specifications: Prepare specifications, data sheets, RFQs, technical bid summaries, and purchase recommendations for electrical equipment.
Vendor Coordination: Review vendor drawings, interface with suppliers, clients, and other disciplines to integrate data and resolve technical challenges.
Project Planning: Participate in the development of project schedules, scope, budget, staffing plans, and construction planning.
Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering practices, codes, and industry standards to complex energy and utility infrastructure projects.
Quality Assurance: Conduct quality reviews of production drawings and project data to support QA/QC processes.
Construction Support: Coordinate with field personnel, oversee inspections and testing, and resolve installation issues to ensure quality construction.
Client Interaction: Prepare and present technical reports for clients, build effective relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
Business Development: Support sales and marketing initiatives, develop cost proposals, and contribute to key pursuits.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior engineers, provide direction, and foster collaboration across disciplines.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies and maintain effective communication with cross-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program. Masters degree in Electrical Engineering is a plus.
Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam required for candidates with a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering Technology.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years in electrical engineering, with experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects preferred.
Technical Skills:Expertise in electrical equipment design per ANSI and IEEE standards.
Proficient in engineering software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong knowledge of engineering techniques and procedures, and experience with quality reviews for engineering documents.
Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale electrical design projects, delegate tasks, and resolve issues in a collaborative environment.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Travel: Willingness to travel as required.
