What you will do:

The Sr. Electrical Engineer is responsible for electrical analysis, detailed design, and control, as well as overall electrical performance of HVAC equipment, including providing support to the production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams located globally. In this position you will work in close collaboration with other engineers and manufacturing personnel to deliver market leading products.

How you will do it

Understand and implement UL electrical safety standard requirements.

Create and maintain agency listing reports related to electrical, electronic and control equipment and components.

Execute design improvements to optimize manufacturability and increase product quality.

Develop innovative designs and solutions for custom (built to order) HVAC equipment based on customer specific requirements.

Develop and maintain electrical engineering design and documentations standards.

Support and provide technical direction for the marketing, sales, application, manufacturing, and service of HVAC equipment.

Design electrical wiring schematics and control requirements for products.

Support electric heat redesign and design enhancements to ensure product complies with relevant codes and standards

Oversee lab testing and create test plans to validate new motors, controllers, electric heaters, and electrical components.

Assist with evaluation of vendors and new components.

Create rules and part selection logic for dynamic order bill of material generation.

Support material resource planning (MRP) software for electrical, electronic, and control components.

Define and perform product prototype builds and evaluations.

What we look for

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in electrical or controls engineering

8+ years of electrical engineering experience in HVAC or closely related field.

Experience with electrical codes such as NEC and UL 1995, specifically as they apply to equipment wiring

Knowledge of electrical engineering theory, design, and application

Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products

Ability to create electrical wiring requirements and interpret drawings and diagrams

Experience creating two dimensional electrical schematics with AutoCAD

3D CAD design experience with Solidworks preferred

Experience with bill of material structures and databases

Concise and clear written and oral communication skills.
