The preferred candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of test methodologies and practices for a variety of test equipment with applicable experience to contribute right away.

The senior engineer will mentor and prioritize tasks for a team of electrical engineers to develop test methods/processes/procedures for complex test equipment and systems, provide technical guidance, identify, and analyze measurement uncertainties, become a technical liaison between departments.

Some mentoring and management oversight is expected.


What You Will Do

Lead, mentor, and prioritize tasks/projects for electrical engineers.

Communicate technical information to the section engineers and/or management.

Provide technical guidance in the develop of calibration methods, processes, and capabilities for complex test equipment and systems.

Review various technical documents, guides and manuals for accuracy and adherence to processes.

Work with cross functional teams to resolve complex issues.

Identify and analyze magnitude of error sources contributing to measurement uncertainty for test systems.

Become the project lead for various assignments.


Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a degree in Science ,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.

Experience mentoring other engineers.

Extensive knowledge of electrical test equipment/systems, measurement techniques.

Knowledge of Metrology principles and standards including NCSL 540 and ISO 17025.

Basic RF knowledge.

Ability to obtain and maintain an Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF).

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Extensive knowledge of electrical test measurement equipment & systems.

Knowledge of RF test equipment and measurement techniques.

Expert knowledge of uncertainty budgets.

Experience with Test Automation such as MET/CAL and/or Labwindows/CVI.

C/C++ programming.

GPIB/LAN communication.

Metrology concepts and practices.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
