About the job Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Draftsman to join our team at our facility in Caldwell, ID. This in-person role involves designing and developing innovative food processing equipment while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure precision and quality. Candidates outside of Southwest Idaho must provide details regarding relocation plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilize SOLIDWORKS and other CAD tools to design components and subsystems that meet project specifications.
  • Conduct engineering analysis to validate designs and propose solutions.
  • Prepare and release detailed documentation, including part drawings, assembly instructions, control diagrams, and bills of material.
  • Partner with the Purchasing team and suppliers to identify and source materials meeting design requirements.
  • Provide hands-on support to the manufacturing team through design, fabrication, assembly, testing, and occasional on-site installation.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
  • At least one year of mechanical engineering experience in machine design (preferred).
  • SolidWorks proficiency, including experience with SW2023.
  • Knowledge of mechanical stress and strain analysis.
  • Familiarity with basic hydraulics, pneumatics, vacuum systems, and power transmission components such as sprockets and chains.

Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes like plasma cutting, sheet metal forming, machining, welding, and assembly.
  • Strong project planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
