PE MECHANICAL ENGINEER

Hooker DeJong, Inc. (HDJ), a National Best & Brightest Companies, is a growing Architectural and Engineering firm, with an immediate opportunity for a talented PE Mechanical Engineer passionate about advanced HVAC and plumbing systems for buildings, to provide mechanical engineering services on a variety of projects throughout the country. HDJ is a Michigan based firm with production offices in Muskegon and Grand Rapids, as well as a production office in Phoenix, and with satellite offices in Chicago, Indianapolis and Cleveland. This position is based out of our Phoenix production office. You will be responsible for the design of HVAC, plumbing and scoping fire protection systems from schematics through construction administration on a wide range of commercial and industrial building types.

Job Requirements

Qualifications include:

• B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• PE License
• Excellent written, verbal & visual communication skills with colleagues and clients at all levels.
• Experience with Revit software and/or AutoCAD a plus
• Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced and multitasking environment with the ability to coordinate this information across disciplines.
• Experience in delivering building mechanical systems preferred. This experience may include knowledge of mechanical design related to industrial, commercial, retail, hi-rise mixed use and multi-family. The ability to provide: load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork design, hydronic system design, domestic water, sanitary and gas systems, as well as fire protection scope of work
• Ability to produce technical construction specifications.
• Self-motivated and able to work productively in a hybrid office and home work environment.
