Job Description: Role Summary:This position is the battery mechanical engineer for the local EV project. They will coordinate all development and release aspects for the mechanical parts inside the local produced high voltage battery system with the local partners (Production/Purchasing/Quality/Suppliers) and the counterparts in Germany. Ensure the project delivery and milestones in general.
Role Responsibilities:Electric Vehicle High Voltage Battery Mechanical Parts Localization - (80%) - Ensure deep technical understanding of current products planned for North American Region.
- Identify potential gaps to ensure market requirements are included for products delivered to and built within the North American Region.
- Manage the localized parts from technical perspective with the strong link to the design team in Germany to ensure the engineering samples and mess production ramp up meet the projects requirement.
- Work with the counterparts closely, especially the purchasing and battery production line to ensure the parts localization and industrialization to meet the overall EV and battery system timeline and the quality goal
- Manage the local parts suppliers from technical perspective to ensure the technical requirement be fully understood and met, conduct the necessary evaluation and test based on needs.
- Support the high voltage battery pack integration to vehicle, involved in the aftersales diagnostic and trouble shooting if needed.
Locally Support to the Development Process- (20%) - Initiate and support the regional engineering change mainly for the HV battery to improve the quality or cost saving, later manage or support the implementation process for North American Region
- Development support for local production (manufacturing, quality, logistics, purchasing, etc.) for the electric vehicles and the HV Battery system assembled in Chattanooga Factory.
Qualifications:Years of Experience:- 3+ years of experience with electrical vehicle system development or vehicle systems mechanical design
Education - Required:- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering
Education - Desired:- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Skills:- Analytical and conceptual thinking - using logic and reason, creative and strategic

Specialized Skills - Desired:- Experience on vehicle systems integration
- Experience vehicle level component or sub-systems testing/releasing
- Experience with local supplier base development
- Knowledge on the electrical vehicle and HV systems
Work Flexibility:- Frequently traveling to the suppliers and the R&D department in Germany
- Increased extended travel to Germany during the initial phase of the project
