Position Purpose: Seeking world-class talent to join the world's leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services operating 5,500+ locations and servicing more than 20,000 locations in the U.S and Canada. Specifically, this role will function as the Manager of WMS Engineering to help build, implement, and support the warehousing and distribution technology at GPC. Working with a highly talented team, you'll play a leadership role to build and run one of the world's largest automotive and industrial replacement parts operations. The Manager, Engineering - Transportation Management & Sourcing (TM & S) must be a technologist & supply chain professional at heart and be comfortable partnering with the business to help drive our supply chain technology initiatives across our Transportation network. This individual will play a key role in executing our strategy to leverage technology to transform our supply chain. They must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack and agile delivery models, demonstrated focus on customer experience, and must have a proven track record of modernizing technologies. This is an engineering leadership role with responsibility for providing technical delivery of TM & S applications. Close collaboration and alignment with business teams, application development teams, Infrastructure and security will be required. As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required. High level communication and presentation skills are required. Responsibilities: Manage the team responsible for designing, building, implementing, and supporting Transportation and Sourcing technologies. Lead the development and build out of various functions of Transportation Management Applications Develop and maintain strong partnerships with the business to understand the strategic direction, processes and needs of the business. Provide leadership to the TM & S team by assisting and coordinating how to meet personal and professional goals. Develop strategies to maximize the use and efficiency of Supply Chain application portfolio. Initiate both group and one-on-one meetings with senior management to gain a clear understanding of business drivers. Directs the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning options incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership Manage and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers. Lead key project and initiatives in the Supply Chain technology space. Additional duties as assigned by management. Location: GPC has two work locations to choose from, Duluth or Atlanta office. We offer a Flexible Work Policy that permits eligible employees to work a hybrid remote schedule. Desired Qualifications & Experiences: Bachelor's or advanced Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience. Should have knowledge and exposure to Applications like, Bamboo Rose, Uber Freight, McLeod, Transflo and Manhattan TMS. Advanced knowledge of TMS applications is required(must). 8 years management/leadership role and prior Supply Chain Systems (SCS) experience Superior interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact and communicate with other team members, managers, and users. Ability to work and lead in a collaborative team environment. Must demonstrate a strong customer focused attitude and understand the fundamentals of customer service. Exceptional leadership, talent development and coaching skills. Experience in implementing TMS Apps(Ex: Manhattan, JDA, Oracle) Excellent oral and written communication Not the right fit?
