This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll Essential Functions Provide operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting support for the TRADEX antenna systems to include providing directions to technicians assisting in accomplishing these tasks. Participate in improvement and modernization efforts to include all phases of development from design through system acceptance. Provide status reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to the Sensor Manager regarding the antenna systems. Update and maintain system documentation to include manuals, preventative maintenance schedules, and drawings. Maintain a safety conscious work environment in cooperation with the Safety department. Collaborate with other groups to include complimentary engineering disciplines to ensure sensor availability is maximized. Lead procurement and sparing efforts to include initial component research, vendor selection, and all subsequent actions to ensure necessary components and materials are on hand to support continuous operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Skills Demonstrated ability to perform effective hardware design, structural analysis, and organize integration projects. Familiar and able to work with standard mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, pumps, motors, gear boxes, electrical servo systems, hydraulic systems, brake systems, electric motors, and structural components. Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks. Willingness and physical ability to assist engineering technicians with manual labor tasks consistent with the maintenance and upgrades of mechanical antenna systems. Demonstrated ability to aid in the development and improvement of routine preventive maintenance procedures. Demonstrated ability to read schematic diagrams. Excellent written and communication skills to include technical writing. Ability to work independently with limited guidance. Ability to work and collaborate with other engineers and technicians. Ability to lead various disciplines in the completion of projects that may sometimes be technically complex. General software literacy in the Microsoft Office Suite. Required Experience Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a degree in a related engineering discipline. Two (2) years of related experience including: Mechanical design work Experience with radar or other large mechanical systems, desired High Power Radar knowledge and experience in some or all of the following: antennas, transmitters, receivers, digital systems or operation, desired. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Climber II Certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire (local training and testing provided). Willingness and physical ability to work at heights up to 100 feet. The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements. Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands. Must be able to travel to other islands via boat, helicopter or plane. This position regularly commutes to Roi-Namur. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship. Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
