Overview

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Global Manufacturing Excellence (GME) under Reliability Solutions Department (RSD).

The Reliability Solutions Department (RSD) provides engineering support to Saudi Aramco Global Manufacturing wholly owned and affiliates' facilities (Refining, NGL Processing, and Petrochemicals). This includes reliability, inspection, corrosion management, static equipment, rotating equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation and control support.

Your primary role is to provide technical support pertaining to the development, deployment and assessment of programs and processes aimed at assuring plants electrical equipment safety and reliability throughout its lifecycle across the Global Manufacturing portfolio, while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes and standards. You will also be responsible for providing technical support to any arising major electrical issues.

Key Responsibilities

As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:

  • Develop and maintain lifecycle management program and database for critical electrical equipment
  • Manage and maintain the corporate arc flash hazard mitigation program and conduct audits.
  • Provide consultation, lead failure investigations to capture and share the outcome with other facilities to avoid re-occurrence.
  • Develop and Manage centralized service contract for maintaining critical electrical assets such as UPS, ATS, Battery Charger, Excitation, MV cables testing
  • Manage electrical systems performance and lead technical programs, studies and assessments
  • Organize and lead technical exchange sessions with other Facilities
  • Experienced with the topics of electrical safety and arc flash hazards mitigations, hazardous area classification, power generation, distribution and protection, motors and motors controls, AC/DC Systems, power systems analysis, electrical studies and industry standards (NEC, IEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, API, etc.).
  • Develop plans and processes to ensure facilities' electrical equipment and systems throughout its lifecycle to reduce safety, environmental and economic risk, while maintaining compliance with all applicable codes and standards.
Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 15 years of experience in managing electrical systems in the oil and gas industry, preferably in downstream refining, NGL and petrochemical sectors. Twenty years of experience is preferred.
  • Performing electrical power system studies utilizing power systems modeling tools.
  • Able to conduct health and condition assessment on critical assets such as switchgear, control gears, motors, transformer and DC systems.
  • Able to demonstrate familiarity with electrical maintenance and troubleshooting practices for industrial electrical systems.
  • Able to demonstrate familiarity of relevant industry codes and standards including NEC, IEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, API, etc.
  • Experience with specification, application and maintenance up to 15kV class electrical equipment.
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of power systems analysis, power distribution, protection and power automation (preferred).
  • Able to demonstrate fluency in English, oral and written.
